Collins & Hayes… Does that name sound familiar? It may well do, as we aren’t new to the furniture industry. In fact, we have been around for over 150 years. We look very different now, but we first started in 1870!

Collins & Hayes began when the Collins family and the Hayes family decided to venture into business together. The Collins family were already established cabinet makers and the Hayes family were esteemed upholsterers. Combining their skills, they were able to craft master furniture together.

So, that’s how the Collins & Hayes brand was born! From the very start our values have always been to create quality, family furniture, and we can guarantee this won’t change. For many decades, Collins & Hayes crafted and perfected furniture for families across the country.

This continued up until World War 2. After the war, we decided to refine our products. We moved away from cabinets and wooden furniture, and shifted our focus to Sofas and Chairs, designed for the modern family.

 

This is where we really bloomed, from the 50s onwards, we were featured heavily throughout the press and were stocked in numerous high-end stores, including Harrods.

 

Our Sofas were, and still are, all about combining style and comfort. We wanted the modern Living Room to be a sanctuary that doesn’t skrimp on style. Because of this, we even got royal recognition!

 

Our switch to Sofas didn’t mean we lost our focus on craftsmanship. We pride ourselves on quality, sturdily built Sofas and Chairs. We have a lengthy design process, comprised of a team of experts that ensures we bring you the best possible product.

And, once your Sofa has been ordered, each piece of furniture is made bespoke, all in one place. Nestled in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, our talented team of Frame Assemblers and Upholsterers lovingly craft your Sofa ready for your home. Fun fact, your Sofa won’t touch the floor until it reaches your home!

 

We are still a luxury upholstery brand, maintaining our original focuses, but with a new fresh, modern look. Our collection brings style and cosiness, turning your house into a home.
