Almost half way through January, stave off those winter blues with an interior refresh. We have selected the top trends to follow in 2019, ensuring you’re the envy of all and ahead of the mode.

1) Home Bars

Yes, Dry January is still underway, but prepare yourself now for the other eleven months of Pinterest cocktails that will surely follow. Taking art-deco inspiration, this Brass and Glass Trolley from Graham & Greene will become a focal talking point in your room – just make sure you keep it well stocked! Accessorize with these decadent Blue Wine Glasses from Zara home to contrast with the Gold Clear Glass Cocktail Shaker from Hurn&Hurn.

2) Velvet

We feature velvet in our A/W Woodland Edit, and we’ve got good reason too. This luxurious fabric is transitioning from the unfair reputation it had during the noughties and coming back into fashion showing it to be a timeless fabric staple. Our deep rich Liberty Velvet fabric (centre) paired with a Hammered Bronze Side Table from Habitat maintains its elegance, without being too plush. Incorporating shapes on small accents, like this Quilted Cushion from Sweetpea & Willow, will add another layer of colour and dimension.

3)  Floral Accents

Leave boho aside for another year, Floral is still having its moment. Whilst most interior designers are encouraging floral walls (and even ceilings!) it is certainly a bold look that may not be for everyone. Find more subtle ways to include this blossoming trend with patterned cushions, we’ve used the understated Flourish Mist on our Radley sofa in Battleship Linara, or try a more subtle wallpaper like this Pastel Pink Wallpaper from Farrow & Ball then accessorize with delicate home furnishings (Vase from House Doctor).

4) The Metal Edit

Luxe metals are certainly the materials of choice at the moment, they add warmth through subtle accents and can take the edge off a deep statement fabric whilst still retaining its class. Take our Miller sofa in Liberty Midnight for example, the gold edged furniture complements the velvet to create a stylish, inviting look. A statement coffee table, like the brass Orion Coffee Table from Atkin and Thyme leaves you free to use more neutral hues and accents elsewhere in your living room, we also love this small Copper Incense Burner from Addition Studio to add small stylish touches.

5) Natural Elements

Raw, natural materials bring an organic and fresh feel to any room, and designers across the field have come up with creative ways to incorporate this trend into your home without having to re-lay your whole floor with concrete. This amazing Kenmore Concrete and Copper Pendant Light from One.World would be the perfect talking point, hanging over a kitchen island or low side table, it hits two trends in one, as does this statement table, like this Nordic Cement Dining Table from Wayfair. Don’t limit yourself to raw materials, our latest Edit features the beautiful Echo Graphite, seen here as a cushion on our Maple Sofa adding an earthy, natural touch.
