The warmer months are finally here, meaning Summer 2023 is well and truly underway. As temperatures begin to rise, we want our homes to become cool and tranquil spaces. With this in mind, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite summer-inspired fabrics, allowing you to transition from the pastels of spring, into the bright and bold tones of summer. Bold Block Colour When we think of summer, we often think of bright, bold and beautiful colours. Block colours are ideal for sunnier months, allowing us to bring dazzling tones into our homes. Our favourite block colours here at Collins & Hayes include: Linara Canary, Linara Bermuda and Linara Begonia. We also absolutely love our Beckett covered in Clarity Sulphur. This is a super sunny fabric, reflecting the long summer evenings we have ahead of us. Beckett’s covers are also washable at 30’c, meaning any accidental summer stains or spillages can easily be washed away. It’s important not to overwhelm your living spaces with too many bold colours though, so pick a few colours and use them in moderation. Light & Neutral Tones Natural, organic fabrics are a great way to add an airy, breathable feeling to your living spaces, especially during the summer months. Cottons and linens will help to keep you cool, calm and collected when temperatures may be getting a little too hot outside. Our favourite Collins & Hayes neutral tones include: Geneva Stucco, Linara Cobblestone and Perfection Salt. Our Geneva fabrics are 60% cotton and 40% linen, meaning they are the perfect lightweight fabrics for summertime. These organic materials will also help bring a touch of nature into your living spaces, extending the summery scenery into your home. Retro Flare Retro inspired interiors have been very up and coming so far in 2023. Taking inspiration from nostalgic days gone by, summer is an excellent time to include a flash of retro material into your living spaces. Often bold and bright prints, vintage-inspired fabrics are a great way to incorporate playful personality into your home. Our favourite retro-inspired Collins & Hayes prints include: Kindred Umber, Bokeh Nordic and Kaiko Stone. Accompanied with some chic repurposed vintage furniture, our retro fabrics will help to create a suave and sophisticated atmosphere this summer. Nautical Themes Coastal-inspired interiors are timeless and are incredibly effective during summertime. We all crave summer days spent by the ocean, so bringing touches of the seaside into your home will elongate this seasonal pastime. Our favourite nautical-inspired Collins & Hayes fabrics include: Impression Navy, Melody Truffle and Whisper Teal. Coastal fabrics will also help to create statement furniture within your living spaces. They work particularly well as accent fabrics for scatter cushions or footstools, adding splashes of pattern against neutral tones.
