At Collins and Hayes, we offer the option of Loose Covers on the majority of our designs. We understand that family life can be messy. Whether its kids, pets or spills, we don’t want you to worry! Our Loose Covers are 100% washable, so you can rest easily. There’s a few things you should know though, to get the most from your Loose Cover. Got a stain? The first thing you need to do is check your Fabric is suitable for machine washing. You can check your fabrics suitability using our Care Guide. Step 1: The first thing you need to do before washing your Covers are to flip them inside out. Turn your Loose Covers, Back Cushion and Seat Cushion cases inside out. Step 2: Next, pop your Covers into your washing machine. If your washing machine has a smaller drum, you may need to was your Covers in a few cycles. If this is the case, ensure you wash all Loose Covers and Casings on the same cycle, for the same amount of time, to make sure there is no difference in fabric tones. Step 3: Choose the correct setting on your washing machine. Make sure to use your preferred detergent to wash your Loose Covers. Our recommendation would be washing your Loose Covers and Cushion Cases on a delicate cycle (hand wash or wool). Select 30̊C and 400 revs spin (or lower). Don’t use bleach, stain removers or lightening detergents as these could damage your covers. We also would recommend that you do not use fabric conditioner, spin dry, tumble dry or iron. Step 4: Once the cycle is finished, remove all your Covers. Step 5: Holding each corner, shake your Loose Covers and Cushion Cases, gently stretching them along the seams to keep them tight. Repeat this for each Case and Cover. Don’t squeeze or wring your covers out. This could cause creases and damage. Step 6: To dry of your covers, we recommend lying them out to dry on a flat surface, this way they will dry nice and evenly, reducing crease marks. Don’t dry your covers in sunlight, as that could cause fading. Step 7: When slightly damp, pop your covers back on. They should fit perfectly. Once fitted, steam your covers and cases to reduce any creases that may have occurred whilst washing, giving a perfectly pristine look. And there you have it!
