August 2022 was a very exciting month for us here at Collins and Hayes, as we were able to meet our Instagram giveaway winners! To celebrate the launch of our BE Collins and Hayes Collection we wanted to give our wonderful Instagram followers the chance to win a Beckett Large Sofa and Snuggler, in a style and fabric of their choosing. The lucky Instagram winner was @ginpatientwoman, also known as Sam. We were so happy to meet Sam and her partner Tony, at our showroom in Long Eaton, to discuss her new furniture’s fabulous design. She was so delighted that she could build her perfect look, deciding on her preferred slip cover style as well having a choice of 26 beautiful fabrics, from our fabulous BE fabric range. Upon Sam and Tony’s arrival at our showroom, we were thrilled by Sam’s excitement and enthusiasm as she spotted the Beckett Collection. Our Collins and Hayes Showroom Design Consultant, Fiona, was on hand to help Sam choose the right fabrics that would best suit her tastes and lifestyle, as well as answering any questions she had about the collection – after all, Fiona is the Collins and Hayes expert! “There are so many fabric and cover choices to choose from for every taste. We are quite traditional in our taste, loving the floor coverage but having the option of summer covers is a fabulous bonus. It is a solid, comfortable yet stylish piece of furniture that we will love for many years to come.” Sam was extremely pleased with the comfort and contemporary design of the Beckett sofa. When we told her about the sustainability element of the collection, she was pleasantly surprised, making the choice of sofa even more of win for her. Our wonderful fabrics, which are available in a choice of two slipcovers, are made from regenerated yarns and can be washed at 30 degrees, so you can be sure you are getting different styles, that will stand the test of time. Did we also mention that our interiors are Quallofil Blue, a new fibre interior using 50% recycled plastic? “When you’re investing in a sofa and you’re choosing the pieces to match, it’s great to know that it’s got so many environmental boxes ticked. From the sustainable fabrics and the fillings, that’s the reassurance that what you’re getting has been well thought out. It was a big surprise to me the extent of how environmentally friendly the sofa is”. When discussing Sam’s preferred look, she was conscious that her new suite should match her existing sofa at home, limiting the look to a grey colour palette. Luckily, she was able to find the perfect fabric, from our extensive range, that suited her living space. “There was such a vast choice even within the greys to narrow it down, different shades, different textures”. Her favourite fabric choice was Wilder Marl, but unfortunately due to the style of her living space and existing sofa, this would not suit. However, with help from Fiona, we were able to compromise to ensure her favourite fabric did feature within her new sofa and snuggler, using Wilder Marl for the scatter cushions and Sense Mineral for the body fabric. “If we didn’t have another sofa to match, Wilder Marl would be a strong choice as it’s a lovely fabric. But it’s better to match the room and accent with scatter cushions”. After Sam and Tony’s visit, choosing the right slipcover style and fabrics, we couldn’t wait to see the final look and how it looked in situ. We have received some fabulous images of how Sam has styled her new Beckett Large sofa and Snuggler within her home! “The sofa… where do I start? It envelops you in a comforting way that you are fully supported to relax comfortably. I love the fact that you can remove the covers and wash them yourself as opposed to specialist cleaning needed. It’s a reassuring feeling knowing that you can enjoy them, yet they can be cleaned easily. The sofa is so roomy it easily seats three of us!” “The chair [Snuggler] is again so comfortable, I love curling up with a book on it. Its generous proportions mean it’s the perfect book reading place!” Her new furniture looks so beautiful in her living room, using a blue throw on her Beckett sofa was a great way to tie in with the body fabric of her existing sofa, bringing the final look together!
